C.S. Manegold worked for twenty years with The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Newsweek Magazine bearing witness to wars, human injustice, environmental change and political conflict on four continents before turning her attention to long form nonfiction.

In 2001, following the publication of her first book, she returned to the potter's wheel and started teaching. Author of two acclaimed works of nonfiction and winner of numerous journalism and teaching awards, she is presently working on a memoir and pondering the mysteries of life on five acres in Vermont.
